Geneva, Switzerland, 10 November
2003 - Stromasys
(SRI) today announced the new versions of
its VAX emulators CHARON-VAX/XM (Plus) and
CHARON-VAX/XL (Plus). The version 2.0.0
introduces many new features, including
the possibility to run as a service under
the Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating
systems, and 100 Mbits/s Ethernet. CHARON-VAX
XM and CHARON-VAX/XL run OpenVMS versions
from 5.2-2H4 up to the most recent one,
converting the host Intel or AMD platform
into a powerful VAX replacement. Together
with the modern fast SCSI disks and other
peripherals, the VAX replacement created
by CHARON-VAX usually outperforms the original
VAX.
