Dr. Robert Boers

Robert Boers started his career as a sales representative for Digital Equipment Corporation in the Netherlands. After several years in the IT department of RaboBank, he returned to Digital Equipment Europe in Geneva. In various engineering functions, he was responsible for Telecommunication compliance, the European External R&D program, established several Digital engineering centers in Western Europe, and created Digital's software migration center in Moscow.

Robert has an engineering degree from the Technical University in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, an Honorary Doctorate from the Moscow Engineering-Physics Technical University, and completed the International Advanced Management Program from IMD, Lausanne and INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. Robert founded Software Resources International in 1998 as a management buyout at the time of the merger between Digital and Compaq.

 

Jean-Claude Peterschmitt

Jean-Claude Peterschmitt

Jean-Claude Peterschmitt was Vice President-Europe and Chairman of the European Board of Directors of Digital Equipment Corporation.

Over the last 20 years, he has served on Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards of a number of European and American technology ventures and venture capital funds. He is a founding member of the Council of Le Réseau (a Swiss network structure for the creation and development of high-technology enterprises in Switzerland) and of the Governing Council of Health on the Net (a Geneva based non-profit foundation for the development and facilitation of access to the Internet for Health information). He is also a member of the Council of the Refugee Education Trust, a Geneva based non-profit foundation for Post-Primary Education in Emergency worldwide.

Mr. Peterschmitt received an Engineering degree from Eidgenoessische Technische Hochschule (Zurich) and an M.S. degree from the MIT Sloan School of Business

 

Volker Kleinn

Volker Kleinn

Volker Kleinn has over twenty years of experience as an executive in the international information technology business, both in the hardware and software industry. After working for Lufthansa, Arthur Andersen, McKinsey and ITEK Corporation, Mr. Kleinn worked for Digital Equipment Corporation as Regional F&A Manager, European Controller and General Manager of Digital Finland. Subsequently he worked as F&A Director and Vice President of International Operations for Apollo Computer and as Vice President Europe and COO for Autodesk Inc.

Mr. Kleinn retired in 1999 as President of PSINet Europe, and currently provides management support, training and strategic help to several companies in Bosnia, Romania, Bulgaria, Nepal and China on a voluntary basis. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the University in Saarbrücken, Germany.

 

Dr. Igor Varsek

Dr. Igor Varsek

Igor Varsek is a Client Executive of Atos Origin International. He has over 20 years of experience in the set-up and management of worldwide IT service organizations, Global Account Teams and application management outsourcing, and is currently managing the Global Account Team for France Telecom. Prior to senior management positions in Sema, Schlumberger and Athos Origin, Dr. Varsek was the Director Corporate External Techology group and, before that, the Director of External and Applied Research Centres in Digital Equipment Corporation – Europe.

Dr. Varsek has a cum laude Doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and completed the International Advanced Management Program from IMD, Lausanne and INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.
